Our final guests for Memorial Day weekend were Alta, a large husky/lab X, Blue, a cattle dog X. Although not from the same family they are friends in "real life" and were able to spend a lot of their time at the Dog Ranch together.
Blue was fascinated and transfixed by the cattle and horses. She would have loved a chance to "herd" them had it been provided. Alas, she had to make do with walks on her long line out of reach of her true desires. We made due with chasing Riley, chasing balls and exploring the pastures for small furry critters.
And sweet Alta missed her mom. She thought I was okay but the nights were long and lonely for Alta and she would have preferred to have been at home tucked into a familiar bed. She did survive those first couple of nights and even managed to have a little fun towards the end of her stay!
