Outside Runs...Almost Done!

Ken and I worked on putting the fronts on all the outside runs this weekend. We had them manufactured through Fence Crafters in Missoula as they are time consuming for us to make and easy for them to make. They are going to work out well, they fit nicely and look good. They are bolted to the posts we sunk into the ground and sit on a 2x6 ledger that is partially buried into the ground.

We also worked on leveling the inside of each run, laying down chicken wire to prevent dogs from digging, and adding pea gravel to each run. Not only does the gravel look nice, it is small and easy on dog feet and can be cleaned fairly well. We put a few inches in each run but may need to add more. Surely over time it will need to be replenished.

Our weekend was productive and we have only one more front to put on and the outside dog runs will be finished. We would have had it wrapped it up this weekend but ran short on gravel for the final run.

And as usual Zoe and Otis wanted to show off how well our runs hold dogs!
